Pumpkin Pie Pudding

Cooking in Kindergarten! We made Pumpkin Pie Pudding today in class and it was a hit! Using the document camera, I measured out all the ingredients aloud and explained to the students how to follow a recipe. Then we let it chill and enjoyed it after lunch as a sweet treat! The majority of the kiddos loved it and want to make it at home, so maybe add it to your Thanksgiving feast menu! Here is the recipe and some pictures of the kids eating their snack!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with gratitude for all you have, especially your special little one that you I am lucky enough to teach! I am thankful for so many things...awesome students, a meaningful and rewarding job, supportive parents, beautiful facilities, food, water, clothes, family, friends and so much more. Thank you for all you do for me as your child's teacher and for your child as well, it means so very much!

Buddies!

Yesterday we all met together as one big happy buddy family!  We worked in Mr. Higgins room making "Book Corner Critter Creatures!"  The project was a success, just a few steps involved. Everyone left with a cool new critter to help them save their spots in their favorite books or even their textbooks!!! We are so thankful for our buddies!

Thank you Donor's Choose and Chevron!!!

Earlier this year I created a project on Donor's Choose requesting a few items that would help out in our classroom. My project was fully funded thanks to Chevron and all our new items have arrived and become part of our everyday routine. I have the two sided portable whiteboard which I use each day for foundation skills as well as brainstorming and demonstrating writing for our daily writing journals. I also have a microphone/speaker gadget I wear so I don't have to strain my voice and to ensure that all my kiddos can hear me clearly. The last items are the seat sacks, which help students take ownership over their belongings and become more independent with their work materials. I am very thankful for these items and wanted to share that on the blog!
