What changes in actions, services, and Professional development has been given surrounding the needs of foster youth and students with disabilities,
expenditures will be made as a result of but due to the unique needs of these students, trainings in the above mentioned areas will continue. One goal for
reviewing past progress and/or changes to the Office of Student and Community Services is to increase the number of trainings for staff and design more
goals? intensive work with school site Foster Youth and McKinney‐Vento mentors.
Mental health counselors, psychologists and nurses will continue to support student engagement and work to
improve student well‐being, so increased learning can occur. The LCAP Stakeholder Survey showed that 55% of
participants agreed or strongly agreed that OUSD provides counseling, social, emotional and behavior support.
When asked in the LCAP Stakeholder survey about what OUSD can do to help improve children's educational
experience, many of the responses had to do with more parent, student, counselor, psychologist, and teacher
interaction/support, so this continues to be a needed area of growth.
The weekly meetings between the Office of School Community Services and Mental Health Services office will
continue for 2015‐2016. This weekly articulation leads to resolving issues and most importantly dispatching staff
from each office to meet both the short term and long term needs of our students and families.
