Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that supports all students' unique learning styles, empowers them to achieve academic success, and encourages them to become life-long learners and productive members of society.
Dear Canyon Rim Families,
I am proud and honored to be the principal of such an outstanding elementary school. When your child is a Canyon Rim Roadrunner, you can be assured that not only is he/she receiving a high quality education, but will be surrounded by adults who truly care about his/her well-being. From the first day of school, Canyon Rim Roadrunners are instilled with the Big R: Respectful, Responsible and Ready to Learn! In addition, Roadrunners are taught explicitly to have a kind heart: Big R with a Kind Heart. Our school has participated in the Great Kindness Challenge, and this year, we want to emphasize kindness all year along with Anaheim, a City of Kindness.
Canyon Rim has a strong reputation of academic excellence. We provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn through the use of differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs. In 2016, Canyon Rim was awarded a Gold Ribbon for an exemplary Multi-Tiered System of Support model. Canyon Rim teachers meet collaboratively to plan lessons which incorporate the 5 C’s: Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity, and Character. In addition, our 5th and 6th grades participate in the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program to instill habits in our students which will help prepare them for college and career.
We have an absolutely gorgeous campus nestled among a beautiful neighborhood in Anaheim Hills. Our campus was built and established in 1997, so we will be celebrating 20 years of excellence this fall.
Our academic program includes 21st Century learning with technology such as Elmo projectors, SMART boards, computers, and Wi-Fi connections. In addition, we have a state of the art computer lab, 3 iPad carts, and 6 Chrome Book carts which are used to provide 21st century learning experiences. We proudly offer a variety of enriching experiences as well such as: Art Masters, after school classes, Geography Bee, Robotics Team, Accelerated Reader, Science Olympiad, Academic Pentathlon, and Student Council.
Our extensive amount of devices and enrichment programs would not be possible without the influential and generous support of our PTA who are dedicated to promoting the education, health, and safety of children and families. I invite you to join our PTA, run for School Site Council, or become a classroom volunteer. Please join us as valued partner!
Sincerely, Erika A. Krohn Principal |
