OUSD Recognizes Schools with "Most Improved" and "Highest Overall" Student Attendance
Orange, Calif. - March 1, 2016 - Orange Unified School District continues to strive for high overall student attendance rates and school connectedness. This month, 19 schools were recognized in two attendance categories for the elementary, middle and high school levels: 1) “Most Improved” overall student attendance rates during the first half of this school year as compared to last year’s attendance rates and, 2) “Highest Overall” attendance rate, the first half of the 2015-2016 school year.
The “Most Improved” schools at the elementary, middle and high school levels were: Fletcher Elementary School, California Elementary School, Olive Elementary School, Palmyra Elementary School, Serrano Elementary School, Nohl Canyon Elementary School, El Rancho Charter Middle School, Portola Middle School, Yorba Academy of the Arts Middle School, Richland High School, Canyon Hills Secondary School and Canyon High School.
The schools with the “Highest Overall” attendance rates at the elementary, middle and high school levels were: Anaheim Hills Elementary School, Nohl Canyon Elementary School, Jordan Elementary School, Serrano Elementary School, McPherson Magnet Elementary School, California Elementary School, Esplanade Elementary School, McPherson Magnet Middle School, El Rancho Charter Middle School, Santiago Charter Middle School, Canyon High School, El Modena High School and Canyon Hills Secondary School.
Each was presented with an Attendance Achievement Award certificate by Student and Community Services Administrative Director Ken Miller, Ed. D.
