Spanish Immersion Academy (iInspire Academia) Offers Orientation and Classroom Tours at California Elementary School
Orange, CA - February 19, 2015 - Orange Unified School District is excited to announce that California Elementary School intends to offer a Spanish language immersion class for the 2015-2016 school year. This innovative one-to-one iPad academy will seamlessly infuse 21st century learning and technology into a Spanish immersion curriculum.
Spanish Immersion Academy (iInspire Academia) at California Elementary will be taught in equal parts Spanish and English by a specially trained Spanish teacher. Following elementary school, students will have the opportunity to continue to expand their Spanish language skills in middle and high school, to earn college credit by taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Spanish, and to graduate with a Seal of Bi-literacy on their diploma and college transcripts. Participating students will emerge both bilingual and biliterate - in English and Spanish - while mastering essential technology skills.
California Elementary will enroll Kindergarten students in the 2015-2016 Spanish Immersion Academy during the Kindergarten enrollment period of March 2 – 13, 2015. Parents who would like their child to participate are encouraged to visit California Elementary School during this time to complete a pre-registration form. Additionally, a parent information meeting will be held at the District Office on March 4th at 5:00 PM. School tours start on March 5th.
California Elementary is located at 1080 N. California Street, Orange. Parents of students living outside of OUSD’s boundaries must submit an Inter-District Transfer Form for approval from both their home district and OUSD prior to enrollment. Space is limited and the program will only be offered after 30 students have committed to enrolling.
