Principal's Message

Welcome to Nohl Canyon Elementary! I am proud and honored to be the principal of this award-winning school. When your child is a Nohl Canyon Roadrunner you can rest assured that they are receiving a high-quality education while being surrounded by adults who truly care about all aspects of their wellbeing. From the first day of school, Nohl Canyon scholars learn how to be respectful, responsible, good decision makers, and problem solvers.

The Nohl Canyon staff and families are committed to creating a community of learners prepared with the skills they need to be successful in the 21st Century. High-quality classroom instruction, students who are engaged and motivated to learn, a warm and caring learning environment, and strong parent partnerships make Nohl Canyon a wonderful place to learn and grow. It is our goal that all students will leave Nohl Canyon with the ability to communicate, collaborate, think critically, and use creativity to build knowledge and innovatively apply this knowledge to improve the world in which they live. To ensure this success, the Nohl Canyon community provides a variety of opportunities to extend and enrich learning, meeting the individual learning goals of each student.

We have a beautiful school campus with a wealth of technology in each classroom such as interactive SMARTBoards, projectors, desktop computers, Chromebooks, iPads, and wireless Internet access. In addition, we are in the process of increasing the number of technology devices on campus to provide even more student access to personalized learning.

Here at Nohl Canyon, we proudly offer numerous after-school opportunities for our students to enhance their academic experience. One of the most successful programs we offer is VEX IQ Robotics which engages students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) activities to develop skills needed for success in today’s changing world. Other programs offered include chess, tennis, soccer, cooking, musical theater and many more.

One of the most important components of an exceptional school like Nohl Canyon is our partnership with parents and the community. Nohl Canyon has a strong tradition of supportive, hard-working families and we believe that parents are valuable partners in their children’s education. Our goal is to educate parents on important school topics such as curriculum, funding, data and assessment so that they are able to share in the leadership decisions impacting the instructional program. Throughout the year parents have the opportunity to develop this partnership in a wide variety of ways. Families can join the Nohl Canyon Student Association (NCSA), volunteer in classrooms, help in the office, attend School Site Council (SSC) meetings, learn at our various parent education events, or participate in one of the many other events or activities that make our school a special place for our children to learn.

At Nohl Canyon, we are passionate about children and enthusiastic about the possibilities for student success in the 21st Century. We look forward to partnering with students, parents, and community members to inspire excellence within every Roadrunner.
