Fletcher Elementary School was built in May 1966. There are approximately 400 students enrolled in grades TK through sixth. Fletcher also houses the Early Learning Center, one of nine State Preschool Programs in the district for children from three to five years old. We are proud of our Dual Immersion Mandarin Immersion Program that spans from Kindergarten to fifth grade, and is part of the Confucius Classroom Program.
The staff at Fletcher is committed to providing a welcoming and safe learning environment for every student. Using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) children are taught behavior expectations and rewarded for appropriate behavior. Teachers use a variety of instructional strategies to teach the California Common Core Standards in ELA and Math. Struggling students become part of our Response to Intervention (RtI) plan and receive academic support, and our English Language Development (ELD) instruction assists our our English Learners. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to become involved through volunteer efforts in the classroom and through PTA. Student achievement is the primary goal at Fletcher and we are committed to their success.
